Sean K. Sanada

Sean K. Sanada represents management in state and federal court as well as before administrative agencies such as the Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Hawaii Civil Rights Commission and the National Labor Relations Board.  Mr. Sanada also counsels employers in personnel matters and assists companies to maintain compliance with developing labor and employment laws.

Prior to joining Marr Jones & Wang in 2010, Mr. Sanada was employed by the City and County of Honolulu as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, in which he worked extensively with the Honolulu Police Department, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and other law enforcement agencies.  During his tenure, Mr. Sanada served as lead counsel in nearly 30 jury trials, and litigated the full gamut of criminal cases ranging from drug distribution to homicide.  In 2009, Mr. Sanada was a recipient of the prestigious “Top Gun” award for most jury trial convictions as charged.  Mr. Sanada also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Chief Justice Ronald T.Y. Moon of the Hawaii Supreme Court and as a full-time extern to the Honorable Barry M. Kurren, United States Magistrate Judge for the District of Hawaii.

Mr. Sanada is a graduate of the University of Washington and received his law degree from the University of Washington School of Law.  As a law student, Mr. Sanada served as a Comments and Articles Editor for the Pacific Rim Law and Policy Journal.  He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in the State of Hawaii.
