Megumi Sakae represents management in a wide range of matters before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, and in arbitration and mediation. Ms. Sakae also advises clients on preventive labor and employee relations practices, including sexual harassment, employment discrimination, employment contracts, severance agreements, protection of trade secrets and restrictive covenants, leave laws, wage and hour compliance, and other employment-related matters.
Before joining MJW in 2007, Ms. Sakae represented management in all aspects of labor and employment law at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York City. She has been a partner with MJW since 2011.
Ms. Sakae is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law where she was an associate editor of the law review. During law school, she worked for the Honorable E. Richard Webber in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Missouri and interned with the Department of Justice, Office of Special Counsel for Immigration-Related Unfair Employment Practices in Washington, D.C.
She is licensed to practice in the states of Hawai`i and New York.
