Ms. Toyofuku has defended a wide range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to not-for-profit organizations against claims of sexual harassment and pregnancy discrimination, wrongful termination, disability and age discrimination, retaliation, whistleblower, and other employment-based tort claims. She has assisted companies with labor and employment issues in the selling and purchasing of businesses and in drafting executive compensation and severance agreements. Ms. Toyofuku has also advised and led labor negotiations on behalf of several employers, advised employers on union avoidance strategies, and represents clients in contract administration.

Prior to joining MJW, Ms. Toyofuku was a partner with the law firm of Dwyer Schraff Meyer Jossem & Bushnell and a director of the law firm of Jossem & Toyofuku, where she practiced exclusively employment and labor law.

Ms. Toyofuku currently serves as an arbitrator on the Court Annexed Arbitration Program and served on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii State Bar Association. She was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Co-Chair of the Judicial Administration Committee of the HSBA. She recently was elected as a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation.
